5 Things You Need to Know Today, 2/8

1) Rain and snow showers before noon, then a chance of snow showers. High near 37. Winds could gust as high as 45 mph. Little or no snow accumulation is expected. 
Tonight, it will be mostly clear, with a low around 15. Wind chill values as low as zero. 

2) Are you wondering what to do with the other half of a half school day?  Molly Cornell will be hosting a free interactive program for children (kindergarten to grade 3) at 2 pm at the to learn how humans have copied things found in nature, such as observing how the hard shell of a turtle protects the soft animal inside and making a suit of armor will do the same for a man.  There will be hands-on samples available for the children to examine and open discussion to encourage then to think of more examples.  This fun and informal course will help to pique childrens' curiosity about the natural world around them and help them to appreciate how amazing nature can be.

3) Kathy Mohler-Faria will be volunteering her counseling services for seniors at the every Tuesday starting at 11 am.  She has a Master's degree in clinical social work and has 27 years experience.  She can help guide seniors through the stress and emotional difficulties they may encounter as they go into their later years. To make an appointment, please call 508-540-0196.
