
1) Falmouth Babe Ruth Baseball is currently holding open registration for 13 to 15-year-old Falmouth residents. Forms can be picked up at the or downloaded from falmouthbr.baberuthonline.com in the Document Center link. The registration fee is $185, and forms are due April 1. Tryouts are April 7 at the Sandwich Road Fields, and the season starts on May 5. The fee includes a uniform (hat, shirt, pants, socks); players should provide cleats and a belt. 2) The 's monthly meeting will take place today at 11:30am at the Fisher House at the in Woods Hole. The program is titled “Bowing the Strings: Celtic Music.” Diane Maranchie, a WHWC member, will play a variety of Irish fiddle tunes, including reels, jigs, polkas and airs, with her daughter and three grandchildren in honor of St. Patrick’s Day. Light refreshments will be served. There will be a collection basket for non-perishable items for the Falmouth Service Center. For more information about the club, call Carol Casey at 508-299-8330.
3) The is offering a free Braids and Nails Workshop today from 1:15-3:15pm for teens age 12-18. Get ready for a special occasion by learning several braiding techniques such as French braids, as well as more unusual braiding styles. Grab a friend and practice on each other during the first hour. Participants should have shoulder length hair or longer. During the second hour, have fun doing your nails. The workshop is free thanks to generous support from the Trustees of the Falmouth Public Library. 4) The will offer "Cooking It Up with Miss Amy" for kids today from 2-3:30pm. Staff member Amy Sellers will provide helpful and safe cooking tips for preparing Irish scones. The class will also give students instruction through hands-on experience for following a recipe, cooking preparation, and cleanup. Geared for ages 8 and up, the class size is limited to 10. There is a $5 materials charge. To register, call the library at 508-548-4709.
5) The will hold a taser demonstration in the FPD's training room tonight at 6pm. The public is welcome to attend.
