5 Things You Need to Know Today, 4/22

A musical fundraiser at Liam's and more for April 22.

1) Today we'll have rain and patchy fog before 9am and a high near 55. Tonight, more rain and a low around 44. 

2) Head over to  today from 12-6pm for an afternoon of fun and entertainment benefiting the . This free event will feature live music and entertainment all day by the Old Silver Band, John McNamara, John and Jim, and Liam Maguire himself, plus lots of fabulous raffle and silent auction items. All proceeds will go to the Cooperative.

3) The return of river herring to the rivers and streams of Cape Cod is a sure sign of spring. But did you know there are other important fisheries that also use our streams to migrate to and from the ocean, such as white perch and American eels? Brad Chase will present a talk on the "Sea-Run Fish of Cape Cod” as the featured speaker at the Coonamessett River Trust’s Annual Meeting this afternoon at 2pm at  Chase is a marine fisheries biologist who leads the Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries' Diadromous Fish Biology and Management Project. The event is free and open to the public.

4) Today at 3pm, the  will host a vocal concert of American music. The artists presenting this program are tenor Howard J. Whitmore and pianist Christpher Morris. Whitmore is a U.C.C.-commissioned Minister of Music at the church and a private voice teacher with the Cape Conservatory Falmouth campus. Morris is a piano teacher with the Cape Cod Conservatory, as well as an established accompanist and the director of music at the Brewster Baptist Church. The event is free, but donations will be acepted to benefit the United Church Of Christ disaster relief programs.
