5 Things You Need to Know Today, 5/8

Building fences for kids and more for May 8.

1) Today we'll have a chance of showers, mainly after 10am. It will be cloudy, with a high near 59. Tonight showers are likely, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 2am. The low will be around 54. 

2) The 2012 golf season of the Ladies' 18-Hole League at will run each Tuesday from May 8 to September 25. The League welcomes all women with a current GHIN handicap index of 36.3 or less, and the handicap is to be kept current throughout the season. Women are asked to be at the clubhouse between 8 and 8:30am, and be ready to tee off by at least 8:50. Please first pay $3 at the League desk for the day's winnings, and then pay at the Club register. The fee to join the League is $20 per year, and carts are required at $12 per person. FCC members pay only the League and cart fees to play. Sign-up sheets are posted on the bulletin board in the hall by the Ladies' Room; please sign up by the Saturday before each Tuesday. 3) There's a workshop today for kids from 1-5pm at the . Learn how to build rustic fences and embellish them with wooden animal cutouts. The fence will be installed in the yard at the Art Center, and students will take home a unique wooden animal sculpture. This workshop, which is being held on a school Early Release Day, is appropriate for children ages 8 and up. To register, visit falmouthart.org or call 508-540-3304.
