5 Things You Need to Know Today, 7/19

1) Today will start out mostly cloudy, and possibly wet, with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Skies should clear in the afternoon, at least partially, with temperatures rising into the high 70s, possibly the low 80s. More clouds overnight, but not much chance of rain.

2) The presents a talk by Frances McNamara, author of , tonight at 7:00 at the . The book, concerning the mystery that arises when a dead body is found in a tank at the Marine Biological Society in the 1890s, is the latest entry in McNamara’s Emily Cabot historical mystery series. 3) Author and illustrator Molly Bang and Penny Chisholm will be at the to discuss their children’s book . 4) The presents , a new play written by Joshua Allen, a recent graduate of the Lila Acheson Wallace American Playwrights Program at The Juilliard School. The play is a darkly comic coming-of-age story about a precocious young girl who is in love with her step-brother.
