1) Cloudy again today, with a chance of showers, and temperatures in the low to mid 70s. The sun may break through at points in the afternoon and evening. Still cloudy overnight, but less chance of rain, and temperatures in the mid 60s.
2) The presents two workshops today, both beginning at 9 a.m. T, six-hour class, will teach participants the basics of monotype, a unique and distinctive method of making prints. Ink is painted onto a smooth surface—metal, glass, or plexiglass—then transferred to paper using pressure. The workshop will encompass selecting the proper surface, preparing the paper, and operating the press. Participation is $100 for members, $125 for nonmembers, plus a $15 material fee.
3) Meanwhile, , a three-hour workshop, will teach participants how to handle the versatile, durable, and inexpensive substance, which can be sculpted, extruded, textured, cured in an ordinary home oven, then sanded, carved, painted, or even turned on a lathe.
