Acclaimed Violinist to Perform Outside At Falmouth Art Center

"Fearless, refreshing and commanding" and "captivating and delightful" are descriptions of Jewish-American violinist Ilana Zaks.

“Fearless, refreshing and commanding” and “captivating and delightful” are descriptions of Jewish-American violinist Ilana Zaks who will be performing at Falmouth Art Center next
week.


The performance is Tuesday, June 1, at 4pm outside in the back yard lawn of the Falmouth Art Center. Chairs will be provided out on the lawn.


Ms. Zaks has performed as a soloist with the Boston Civic Symphony, Rhode Island
Philharmonic Orchestra, New England Philharmonic, and Pioneer Valley Symphony, among other groups. Her many honors include top prizes at concerto competitions and she was recently a featured performer on the National Public Radio program, “From the Top.” She graduated from the New England Conservatory and is now pursuing her master’s degree at Yale School of Music.

The following are the pieces on the program: JS Bach Partita #1 in b minor (Allemande-Double, Courante-Double, Sarabande-Double, Tempo di Bouree- Double); N. Paganini: Caprice #2; N. Paganini: Nel Cor Piu Non Sento after Rossini's opera "La Molinara"; G. Enescu: Airs danse Le Genre Roumain; and Coleridge Taylor Perkinson: Louisiana Blues Strut (A Cakewalk).


The performance will last one hour. Admission is a donation of any amount. The Falmouth Art Center is located at 137 Gifford Street in Falmouth. Attendees are asked to register by emailing info@falmouthart.org. For more information, go to FalmouthArt.org or call 508-540-3304.
