AIDS Support Group Plans Falmouth Clinic

The AIDS Support Group of Cape Cod would also run a mobile syringe exchange instead of the brick-and-mortar version that sparked pushback.

FALMOUTH, MA — The AIDS Support Group of Cape Cod is planning to open a health clinic in Falmouth, according to the Enterprise. The group is looking at space at Tataket square in Teaticket, across from the Stop & Shop.

The office would be for people living with and at risk for HIV/AIDs. It would not include a syringe exchange, but the group said it plans to offer the service out of a mobile outreach van, the Enterprise reported.

The organization's original plan to open a needle exchange in East Falmouth received pushback from residents. Rep. David Vieira, who worked with the AIDS Support Group to find a compromise, said he is "glad [the organization] was willing to explore the mobile option for needle exchange."
