Police said the 19-year-old threw an unopened beer can at a Duck Boat, reportedly hitting the Red Sox manager.

SANDWICH, MA – A Cape Cod man was arrested during the Red Sox Victory Parade Wednesday. Officers in the area of 560 Boylston St. saw 19-year-old Patrick Connolly, of Sandwich, throw an unopened beer can at one of the Duck Boats, striking a man onboard, police said.

The man was uninjured, according to police. A law enforcement official told the Boston Globe the man hit was Red Sox manager Alex Cora.

Connolly will appear in Boston Municipal Court on charges of assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon, minor in possession of alcohol and disorderly conduct.

The can that reportedly struck Cora wasn't the only one thrown during Wednesday's parade. Fans tossed beers to players Craig Kimbrel, Joe Kelly, Matt Barnes and Mookie Betts, according to the Globe. Some caught them and sprayed beer back into the crowd.

A 20-year-old woman told the Globe she was hit in the face with a can that she thought was thrown from the other side of Tremont Street. One of the World Series trophies was dented after taking a "direct hit" from a beer can, WCVB reported.
