FALMOUTH, MA — A Falmouth man was linked to a shocking housebreaking and attack on a resident of an Austin Stokes Drive address after he was arrested in connection with a similar crime in Mashpee, police said.

O'Flaherty was charged in connection with the May 25 break-in on Austin Stokes Drive.

In that case, a prowler slipped through a bedroom window shortly after 9:30 p.m., attacked a resident and held them against their will before another resident heard the commotion, prompting the housebreaker to flee, according to the release.

O'Flaherty was arrested by the Mashpee police shortly after a Monday break-in on Wheeler Road, the release said.

"O'Flaherty was subsequently arraigned in Falmouth District Court and released," according to police.

Falmouth detectives then connected O'Flaherty as the Austin Stokes Drive housebreaker, obtained a warrant for his arrest and took him into custody, per the release.

"Detectives, with assistance from the Barnstable County Sheriff's Office, also executed a search warrant at O'Flaherty's residence and seized evidence related to the investigation," the release said.

"O’Flaherty was arraigned yesterday at Falmouth District Court and held," according to the release.
