News Experience the unique habitats of Massachusetts with guided walks (mass.gov) — Falmouth residents can join MassWildlife biologists on Sunday, October 11, for a two-hour guided walk at Frances Crane Wildlife Management Area, exploring more than a decade of woodland restoration that now supports over 20 rare wildlife species. Additional fall walks in Belchertown and Plymouth highlight invasive species management and pine barrens ecology, but space is limited and advance registration is required for all dates.

Teen who died after paddleboard fall in Falmouth identified (capecodtimes.com) — An 18‑year‑old visitor from Connecticut died after falling from a paddleboard in a Falmouth pond on August 31, despite rescue efforts by local police and firefighters. A friend called 911, Falmouth responders searched Jenkins Pond, and the victim was taken to Falmouth Hospital, where he was pronounced dead as the medical examiner now reviews the case.
