FALMOUTH, MA — In just a few days, thousands of runners will descend on Cape Cod for marathon weekend.
The races, sponsored by Shipwreck, will begin Oct. 10 and run through Oct. 11.
The festivities will give runners a chance to test their endurance while running through scenic areas of Cape Cod, including Falmouth, before the New England winter rolls in.
However, the races will require some traffic changes to ensure everything goes smoothly.
Streets impacted in the Falmouth area include Scranton Avenue, Maravista Avenue, Acapesket Road and Davisville Road.
During the races, no through traffic or parking will be allowed. These restrictions will be in effect Oct. 10 from 8 to 11 a.m. and Oct. 11 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The changes will allow runners to safely make their way along the course as they try to cross the finish line and set new personal bests.
