FALMOUTH, MA —With Halloween just around the corner, the Falmouth Village Association has opened voting for the annual Street of Scarecrows event.
Voting will remain open until 11:59 p.m. on Oct. 31 as participants eagerly await the announcement of this year's winner.
This year's entries include dozens of handcrafted scarecrows and figures made from recycled materials, created by local businesses and nonprofit organizations.
The scarecrows are already on display, but the Falmouth Village Halloween Stroll is not scheduled to take place until Oct. 31.
Residents can show their support by voting for their favorite scarecrows created by local businesses and nonprofit organizations on the Falmouth Village Association's Facebook page.
Once the votes are tallied, the winner will be announced.
Residents can also get into the Halloween spirit by checking out the scarecrows during the Halloween Stroll, which will run from 1 to 3 p.m. on Oct. 31.
After the stroll, the focus will shift to trick-or-treating as families head out in search of Halloween candy.
