App Alerts Boaters to Great White Shark on Cape Cod
A great white shark app alerted Cape Cod boaters to a great white swimming just feet from them near Monomoy Island.
CHATHAM, MA — There's an app for everything these days—including one that detects great white sharks.
A group of boaters credited the app "Sharktivity" for alerting them to a great white shark swimming just feet from their boat around Monomoy Island near Chatham.
The app was developed by the nonprofit Atlantic White Shark Conservancy—which tracks great whites around Cape Cod—and state and local officials.
