Art Center Show And Book Club Feature 'Circe'
The Falmouth Art Center is partnering with the Falmouth Public Library in hosting a discussion and art show inspired by 'Circe'.

The Falmouth Art Center is partnering with the Falmouth Public Library in hosting a discussion and art show inspired by the Falmouth Reads Together selection “Circe,” by Madeline Miller. A New York Times bestseller, the book has been described as a bold and subversive retelling of the goddess Circe’s story. The book recasts the most infamous female figure from the “Odyssey” as a heroine in her own right.
As part of this collaboration the center is issuing a call for artwork inspired by “Circe” for display during the month of May. Artwork in any medium can be brought to the center on Tuesday, May 4, from 9 AM to 4 PM. Submitting to the show is free and open to all. The artwork submitted that meets the center’s guidelines will be displayed in the center’s first-floor classroom. Guidelines for submission can be found on the Falmouth Art Center’s website.
The Falmouth Art Center Book Club will hold a discussion about the book on Thursday, May 6, from 4 to 5 PM on Zoom. This discussion is free and open to the public. To be included, send an email to info@falmouthart.org stating an interest in participating in the book discussion. The Zoom link will be sent the day of the discussion.
