Author Will Discuss New Book On Modern Art Via Zoom

The business of art revolves around galleries, museums, collectors and critics who go a long way toward determining which artists become famous.

It is hard to imagine a time when Van Gogh, Matisse and Picasso were not well-known names in this country.

Author Hugh Eakin’s new book, “Picasso’s War: How Modern Art Came To America” takes the reader back to that time and tells the story of how Americans were introduced to European artists producing modern art in the first half of the 20th century.

Mr. Eakin will discuss his book during the first in a series of virtual art talks this spring in the Falmouth Art Center series, Speaking of Art.

The talk featuring Mr. Eakin is Wednesday, March 22, at 6:30 PM on Zoom.

Mr. Eakin, a senior editor at Foreign Affairs, has written about museums and the art world for The New York Review of Books, Vanity Fair, The New Yorker and The New York Times.
