Falmouth Baptist Church will hold a Tenebrae service on Good Friday, April 18th at 7 pm. The service combines communion, music, and the reading of scriptures into a meaningful remembrance of Jesus’ death on the cross for our sins.
The service, which progresses from light to darkness, begins with communion. Candles are extinguished as Jesus’ dying words and sacrifice on our behalf are remembered. The evening is contemplative and somber with periods of natural silence for quiet reflection. At the close of the service, before parishioners leave the sanctuary in silence, one candle is relit, marking the hope of the resurrection, and we leave not as defeated people, but as expectant believers.
The service will be both in-person and livestreamed. All are welcome. The church is located at 60 Central Park Court. For more information visit Falmouth.Church or call 508-548-3260.
