Waquoit Congregational Church presents " Movies That Matter": A-Lein and Stranger at the Gate

Two Oscar nominated short films on immigration and Hate kick off our 2026 film and discussion series. The first, A-Lien portrays the chaos and cruelty that results after a young man is detained and separated from his family when he presents himself for a green card interview. The second, Stranger at the Gate, explores what happens when an ex-Marine plans a Muslim Mosque attack and is unexpectedly welcomed by those he targets. Sandy Faiman-Silva of the Falmouth Immigrant Rights Coalition will lead the discussion after the film.

Movies That Matter is supported by the MASS Cultural Council and Falmouth Cultural Council. FREE and open to the public. Popcorn and cold drinks provided.
