Woods Hole Woman’s Club Presentation:  Judy Laster, director of the Woods Hole Film Festival, on “Thirty-five years of film in Woods Hole”
The Woods Hole Woman’s Club welcomes featured speaker Judy Laster, a filmmaker and one of the originators of the acclaimed Woods Hole Film Festival (WHFF).  Launched in 1991 with five films screened upstairs at the Woods Hole Fire Station, the latest festival in 2026 offered 127 independent films and events held at six venues over eight days.  Judy credits WHFF’s success to her lifelong connection to the Woods Hole community.  She will talk about the evolution of the WHFF and her own creative efforts, sharing special moments as well as what comes next for the festival and the Woods Hole community.
The Club will meet at 11:30 am on Tuesday, November 10, at The Church of the Messiah Parish and Community Center, 16 Church Street in Woods Hole.  Light refreshments will be served and attendees may bring a brown bag lunch if they wish.  Non-members are welcome to attend as space permits.  Donations of jewelry for the annual Woman’s Club jewelry sale at the Renaissance Fair, Dec 5 at Community Hall, can be made at the upcoming meeting.
The Woods Hole Woman’s Club brings members together to provide enrichment and mutual helpfulness for the betterment of Woods Hole and the surrounding communities.  Founded in 1914, members enjoy a variety of speakers and programs and raise money for college scholarships and support of community organizations. Monthly meetings from October through April include informative presentations, entertainment, and social events and new members are welcomed at any time during the year.  Information about membership is available at WHWCmembership@gmail.com.  Additional information about the club and its activities can be found at: http://www.woodsholewomansclub.org
