Cape Cod Cooperative Bank Robbery Under Investigation In Sandwich

No customers were in the bank at the time of the robbery and no staff members were injured, police said.

SANDWICH, MA — Police in Sandwich are investigating a bank robbery at a local branch of the Cape Cod Cooperative Bank.

At approximately 4 p.m., officers responded to a panic alarm from the Cape Cod Cooperative Bank.

A man, described as white, possibly 5’6” – 5’7”, with a stocky build reportedly entered the bank and demanded money from one of the tellers. No weapon was shown and the suspect's face was covered, police said.

The teller followed the suspect’s directions, at which time he fled the bank on foot.

There were no customers in the bank at the time of the robbery and none of the bank staff were injured.

Members of the Sandwich Police Department, with assistance from the Mashpee Police Department and the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office are investigating.
