Cape Cod Man Dead After Possible 'Noxious Fumes' In Bourne Home

An 84-year-old man was found dead by a Hazmat crew in Bourne on Tuesday. A local and state police investigation is ongoing.

BOURNE, MA — An 84-year-old man is dead after possible "noxious fumes" were present in a Bourne home, police said.

Bourne police and fire officials responded to a residence on Nairn Road for a report of an unresponsive male party and the fumes around 4:22 p.m. on Tuesday.

In response to the fumes, officials requested a Hazmat team to the residence. Those officials entered the home and cleared the area of any hazards, officials said.

However, the team also confirmed that the 84-year-old was dead inside the home. An initial investigation hasn't found anything criminal, officials said.

Bourne Police and Massachusetts State Police are continuing the investigation.
