Cape Cod Man Indicted In August Motorcycle Crash

FALMOUTH, MA — A Cape Cod man was indicted on charges relating to the August motorcycle crash in Falmouth that caused injuries to Dave and Sandy Fitch.
David Eldredge, Jr., 33, of Falmouth, was indicted on charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury, assault and battery on a person 60 or older causing bodily injury, leaving the scene of property damage, leaving the scene of personal injury, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, attaching plates to conceal ID, operating with a suspended license and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.
Police were called to the area near Estia restaurant on Main Street just after 8:45 p.m. on Aug. 14. Officials said the couple were hit by the motorcycle while they were crossing the street within the marked crosswalk.

Officials said Eldredge was able to get his motorcycle off the road before he fled into a wooded area behind Falmouth Town Hall.
An online fundraiser for the couple, who needed serious medical attention following the crash, raised over $24,000.

They were out celebrating Dave's birthday at the time of the crash.
