Cape Cod Police Find Mortar Shell In Residential Backyard
A bomb squad was called to a Bourne backyard, where it was determined that the training round posed no threat to the public.

BOURNE, MA — A Cape Cod resident found much more than they bargained for while working in their backyard this week.
Bourne police reported they were called to a home in Bourne on Tuesday morning after a resident reported they found a possible unexploded mortar round in their yard on Depot Road.
Bourne Fire, as well as units from the Massachusetts State Police Bomb Squad, responded to the residence to assist. Bomb squad officials were able to determine that the round was an "inert training munition", and posed no hazard, police said.
