Cape Cod Student Injured In Jump From Floor To Floor
The school was briefly put in a "shelter in place" status, but no danger was present to those within the building.
BOURNE, MA — A student was injured after they jumped from a staircase at a Cape Cod high school, local police said.
Around 12:24 p.m. on Thursday last week, Bourne police responded to the local high school.
A preliminary investigation found that the student stepped over a mid-level railing and jumped to the lower level below, landing on their feet.

Fire and rescue officials responded and took the teenager to an area hospital with "possible minor injuries."
"The school was placed in a brief “shelter in place” status to allow for emergency responders to be able to transport the individual out of the building with minimal interference," officials said.

However, no students were at risk during this period.
An investigation is ongoing.
