Cape Cod traffic: 5-mile backup to Sagamore, Bourne bridges as the July 4th weekend kicks off.
Cape Cod traffic started slowing to a crawl Friday afternoon as the July 4th weekend kicked off.
At about 5 p.m., there was a 5-mile backup on Route 25 heading to the Bourne Bridge and a similar backup on Route 3 heading to the Sagamore Bridge.
