Cape Cod's Lone Strip Club Is Shutting Down
The property has been sold and will close within the next two months.
MASHPEE, MA — The only strip club on Cape Cod is shutting down, according to the Cape Cod Times. The 6.17-acre property in Mashpee that houses Zachary's Pub was sold for $2 million Tuesday. The land also consists of a laundry facility and 50 rental units in 13 buildings.
The property's new owner plans to improve the units but will not continue to run the club, the Times reported. The business must close within 60 days.
Zachary's was formerly the Wigwam Motel and Cottages before it was bought by Richard Halpern in 1986. Mashpee created a zoning bylaw 12 years later to restrict adult entertainment businesses.
