Cape Cod Baseball League Names 1st 2022 Pitcher, Player Of The Week

YARMOUTH, MA — The College World Series is ongoing in Omaha, but on the east coast's premier summer college league, the season is just starting.

The Cape Cod Baseball League's first week is done, and the first player and pitcher of the week have been named.

Jared Lyons, a right-hander from George Mason playing for Yarmouth-Dennis, took home the first pitcher of the week nod. According to the CCBL Public Relations Office, Lyons had two appearances last week.

He allowed no runs across nine innings, striking out 10.

Taking home the player of the week honor was Boston College outfield Travis Honeyman, who's playing with Orleans this summer.

CCBL stats show that Honeyman went 7-19 over the last week, including two home runs and three doubles. He accumulated a .368 average.
