Fast-food giant Chick-Fil-A is planning to open its first Cape Cod location in Hyannis.

Company officials filed paperwork to open a drive-thru restaurant on Iyannough Road near the Cape Cod Mall. They were scheduled to meet with the Barnstable Site Plan Review Committee Thursday morning. The project has not yet obtained final approval.

Chick-Fil-A currently operates four Massachusetts locations in Peabody, Burlington, Chicopee, and Westborough. The Georgia-based company runs over 1,900 locations in 42 states and Washington, D.C. Its sales last year were nearly $6 billion.
