Construction On Falmouth Skatepark To Start In Fall
After over a decade of planning, the skatepark at Trotting Park will become a reality.
FALMOUTH, MA — Construction on an 8,000-square-foot skatepark at Trotting Park is set to begin this year, according to the Falmouth Enterprise. Clearing the lot is expected to start in August, with construction starting shortly after. The contract stipulates the project must be completed within 18 months.
The park will be free and include a bowl, a plaza area, banks, stairs and rail, the Enterprise reported. It will be built next to the existing park at Trotting Park, which will be used for beginners.
Planning and fundraising for the skatepark started 12 years ago, according to the Enterprise. Adira Construction, Inc., which was awarded the contract, has partnered with the developer behind skateparks in Framingham, Nashua, NH, Enfield, CT, and a park in development in Plymouth.
