“Day of the Dead” the theme of upcoming Falmouth Art Center Talk

The Falmouth Art Center will present a Zoom Art Talk entitled “Dia de los Muertos/Day of the Dead” by Dr. Sandra Faiman-Silva next week.
The talk is scheduled for Thursday, October 29, from 6 to 7pm on the Zoom meeting platform.
This Art Talk is an initiative of the Falmouth Art Center’s new Diversity and Inclusion Committee, which is planning activities around holidays from diverse cultures.
Dr. Faiman-Silva of Falmouth, a retired professor of anthropology with a specialty in Latin American cultures, will discuss the roots of Halloween in pre-Christian folklife, Celtic Mexico’s Samhain Day of the Dead and Christian All Saints and All Souls Day rituals.
This Art Talk is a unique Halloween event suitable for the entire family (children ages 12 and up or those not easily frightened by skeletons).
The cost is $10 for Falmouth Art Center members/$12 for non-members.
