Dog Dies In Multi-Car Cape Cod Crash

Four people were taken to area hospitals for non-life-threatening injuries following the three-car crash.

BOURNE, MA — A dog is dead and four people were injured after a multi-car crash on Cape Cod Tuesday afternoon.

Around 12:45 p.m., officers from the Bourne Police Department responded to reports of the crash on Scenic Highway in the area of Edgehill Road.

Three cars were involved in the crash, and officers learned at the scene that one vehicle included a large dog. Bourne’s Department of Natural Resources was requested to the scene and officials confirmed that the dog died at the scene.

A preliminary investigation revealed that one of the involved vehicles attempted an improper left turn while exiting a rest area and collided with a vehicle traveling eastbound. Both vehicles ended up in the westbound lane, where the collision with the third vehicle occurred, police said.

Four occupants were transported to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, and two occupants declined to be transported to the hospital.
