Donnie Wahlberg Leaves $2,020 Tip At Cape Cod Restaurant
Donnie Wahlberg's tip was part of the 2020 Tip Challenge which encourages people to tip their servers a little extra this year.

SANDWICH, MA — Actor Donnie Wahlberg made a server's day when he tipped more than $2,000 on a $35 lunch tab at a Cape Cod restaurant.
Last Saturday, the Boston actor visited Marshland Restaurants and Bakery in Sandwich for a meal. Before leaving, Wahlberg gave a $2,020 tip, writing at the bottom of the receipt, "#2020tipchallenge."
"A very special thank you to our friend [Donnie Wahlberg]! When asked about it all he said was, 'Who's up next,'" the restaurant wrote in a Facebook post.

The challenge started at the beginning of the new year when a server in Michigan was left a $2,020 tip from an anonymous couple.
The challenge went viral, but since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, it's safe to say the challenge has taken on a new meaning — helping servers in an industry that's been struggling since March.

This was not the first time Wahlberg took part in the challenge this year. In January, the singer-songwriter and actor left another $2,020 tip on a $76 bill at an IHOP in St. Charles, Illinois.
Still, you don't have to leave thousands to make a restaurant happy as was evidenced last month when a customer left a $700 tip at one Waltham restaurant.
