Controlling the Cost of Trash in Falmouth

Solid waste disposal in Falmouth will be the topic of discussion on Thursday, April 19, at 7:30 PM in the Hermann Room of the Falmouth Public Library.  The League of Women Voters of Falmouth will host a meeting open to the public that will introduce Pay-As-You-Throw (PAYT) curbside trash collection.  Should Falmouth consider PAYT?  Within PAYT what are the options?  Can we better conserve natural resources with PAYT?  This will be an opportunity to learn the facts and get your questions answered.   LWVF Natural Resources Committee members, Virginia Gregg and Ruth Brazier will provide background information, and Janine Delaney, MassDEP Municipal Assistance Coordinator will provide an overview of PAYT and information about municipal Waste Reduction Programs.  The League of Women Voters is a non-partisan organization dedicated to promoting informed citizen participation in public affairs.   Membership is open to men and women.  www.lwvf.org
