Falmouth Community Announces Friday Afternoon Studio Workshop

Falmouth Community Television at 310A Dillingham Avenue in Falmouth is offering a new afternoon training opportunity for those interested in getting started in creating their own television productions, or just helping out on existing productions.

FCTV’s Basic Studio Workshop is currently being offered on four consecutive Friday afternoons from 3pm to 5pm beginning August 10th. This workshop is a comprehensive introduction to all aspects of video production, from lighting and camera work to audio production and technical direction using FCTV’s state of the art Broadcast Pix Slate 1000 switcher. Many of the techniques and concepts covered in this workshop can benefit the participant in many other types of video production, including field productions.

FCTV also has a full slate of its entry-level courses scheduled for this mid-summer. Basic Field Production, a four-session workshop, is designed for anyone interested in doing video work outside of the studio, or “on location”, the first of which will be held on Tuesday evenings from 7pm to 9pm, beginning on August 14th. For more classes, times and dates, those interested can visit the FCTV website at www.fctv.org.

New members are required to take one Orientation class before beginning any workshops or using FCTV facilities. Orientation is free to the general public, as well as existing FCTV members, and takes place on the first Thursday of each month.
