A forum on the Supreme Court Citizens United Decision sponsored by the Falmouth Democratic Town Committee will be held on Wednesday, January 18, at the Gus Canty Center, 790 Main Street (Rte. 28) starting at 7pm.
The panelists will be State Senator Jamie Eldridge who represents the Middlesex and Worcester districts, and author/lawyer Jeff Clements. These are two of the best people in Massachusetts to discuss the problems created by the Supreme Court Decision. Senator Eldridge has introduced a resolution in the state legislature requesting that our legislators in Washington introduce a constitutional amendment to Congress, work to pass it so that it can then be ratified by two-thirds of the states. Mr. Clements is the author of “Corporations Are Not People, The definitive guide to overturning Citizens United.”
Momentum has been building to pass a constitutional amendment to overturn this decision. Please plan to come to this forum to find out what each one of us can do to make it happen. The general public is invited to attend. Light refreshments will be available.
