Grace Kelly will perform at Highfield Theatre Saturday, September 29th with her quintet. The 19 year-old saxophonist, singer and composer has five CDs and over 500 performances to her credit including appearances at Lincoln Center, Newport Jazz Festival and with the Boston Pops. Kelly has been voted "Best Jazz Act in Boston" four consecutive years in the FNX/Phoenix Best Music Poll, received the ASCAP Foundation's Young Jazz Composers Award in 2007, 2008, 2010, and 2011, and won "Jazz Artist of the Year" at the Boston Music Awards in both 2008 and 2010. The 2009, 2010, and 2010 Downbeat Critics Poll added Kelly to their list of the "Alto Saxophone Rising Stars", the youngest ever to be named so. She was recently voted the "National Jazz Act of the Year" in the 2012 Phoenix "Best Music Poll" and a 2011 winner of Glamour Magazine's 54th annual "Top Ten College Women" competition.
"Grace Kelly is a unique and genuine talent. Great young performers are nothing new, but someone who possesses such ease of expression and musical personality at such an early stage of her career is a find, indeed. I can't wait to see what her future holds." … Keith Lockhart
"….I’ve heard the future of jazz and it is Grace Kelly.” ….
