Meet the exhibitions’ artists and poets as we celebrate Highfield’s two Beebe Woods inspired exhibitions – The Intimate Woods and The Trail Leads to Our Door. Enjoy lively music by popular Cape Cod jazz pianist Mike Garvan while you enjoy light refreshments from the Casual Gourmet.
Exhibiting artists include Julie Child, Ron Geering, Alfie Glover, Salley Mavor, Mary Moquin, Carol O’Dell, Sarah Peters, Andrea Moore, Hillary Osborn, Marisa Repeta, Doub Rugh and Joyce Schutter to name but a few. In all, over 40 established regional artists have created new works, inspired by Beebe Woods, specifically for this exhibition.
A poetry reading accompanied by a complimentary hand-made poetry booklet will also be presented, as will a series of recordings by Jenny Junker, telling the story of the Beebe’s and their Woods through recognizable sounds. Guests will be welcomed by staff from Historic Highfield and The 300 Committee, who partnered on this celebration of Beebe Woods. There is no charge for admission and everyone is welcome. The Beebe Woods celebration has been made possible in part by support from the Arts Foundation of Cape Cod and the Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank Charitable Foundation Trust.
