Seaside Le Mans - The Race for the Cape Cod Community

It’s fast, it’s fun, it’s family-friendly and it’s FREE!
Mark your calendars for 9/8/12 for a unique Saturday afternoon at the Seaside
Le Mans –The Race for the Cape Cod Community. The festivities kick off at noon as
thousands gather to watch this annual 4-hour endurance race of European-style
Formula One race karts on a ¼ mile outdoor track around Mashpee Commons (just behind the Mashpee Library). The
action never stops as teams change drivers, refuel, pass one another and race
around corners and along straightaways. Computerized tracking systems in the
karts provide up to the minute results on the leader board as fans cheer for
their favorite teams. The event includes free viewing either trackside or from
the infield reached by a pedestrian bridge spanning the racetrack. Music,
entertainment and children’s activities combine with the many shops and
restaurants of Mashpee Commons to provide every member of the family with
something interesting to see or do. Over the past 11 years, the race has raised
over $3 million dollars in sponsorships and matching grants, supporting non-profit
organizations on the Cape & Islands. Beneficiaries for this year are Cape & Islands Special Olympics, CHAMP Homes, Community Health Center of Cape Cod and Sight Loss Services. Join in the fun Saturday, September 8,
2012 from 12pm – 4pm at Mashpee Commons. For more information, visit www.seasidelemans.org .
