Falcons Pride: 5 Unforgettable Athletes From Falmouth High School
From local fields to national fame, these stars got their start in Falmouth.

Sports run deep in Falmouth, and Falmouth High School has long been at the heart of it. It’s no surprise some standout talent once wore the Falcons uniform. Today we're celebrating five unforgettable athletes from Falmouth High School who made a name for themselves well beyond the hometown field.
1. Steve Cishek - MLB Pitcher (Florida Marlins)
Cishek is a former professional Major League Baseball pitcher from Falmouth. After starring on the mound at Falmouth High School, he continued his career at Carson-Newman, where he led the team to a championship in 2007. Cishek was drafted in the fifth round by the Florida Marlins and had a successful 12-year career playing for multiple clubs as a relief pitcher. (Sources: MLB, CNEagles)
2. Jason Cullinane - Star Distance Runner
Cullinane grew up in Falmouth and was a standout distance runner at Falmouth High School, where he was part of an All-State Champion cross country team. He continued his running career at Fitchburg State University, earning four NCAA All-American honors in the steeplechase and competing at an elite level. 3. Jamaal Branch - NFL Running Back (New Orleans Saints)
A former NFL running back, Branch was a four-year letter awardee in both football and track during his time at Falmouth High School before continuing his career at Colgate University. One of the best running backs in school history, Branch won the Walter Payton Award in 2003, awarded to the best offensive player in Division I-AA, setting multiple school and NCAA records at the time. Branch spent some time in the NFL and was a part of NFL Europe as well. Branch was inducted into the ECAC Conference Hall of Fame. (Sources: ECACSports, ESPN)
4. Maddison Haberl - Collegiate Field Hockey Player
Haberl was a multi-sport star at Falmouth High School, competing in field hockey, ice hockey and lacrosse. Haberl earned All-Star honors each field hockey season and helped lead the team to the Atlantic Coast League co–championship. She also helped lead the Division II ice hockey team to a State Championship. Haberl completed her playing career, playing field hockey at Fairfield University. (Sources: FairfieldStags)

5. Jillian James - Collegiate Diver
The most recent alum and the list and one of the most accomplished athletes from the swimming and diving program, James was a dominant diver throughout her high school career. Earning multiple Class A state championships and setting state records, James’ career was well decorated. Currently, she is continuing her career at the College of the Holy Cross.
