Falmouth Among Dozens Of MA Towns Where Coronavirus Cases Grew
Falmouth's positive test rate for coronavirus jumped 2 percentage points since last week.

FALMOUTH, MA — Falmouth was among the quarter of Massachusetts communities that saw a rise in positive coronavirus cases over the last 14 days. This was the second straight week that showed a trend of increasing numbers in Falmouth.
Over the past two weeks, 24 Falmouth residents tested positive for the virus out of the 1,014 who were tested, according to data released Wednesday by the state Department of Public Health.
That's a positive test rate of 2.37 percent, which is above thee 2 percent safety threshold health officials said may be needed to safely reopen. The positive test rate jumped significantly from last week's rate of .37 percent.

Some of the new numbers likely saw an increase when at least eight Falmouth lifeguards contracted COVID-19.
