Falmouth To Break Ground On New Senior Center
The town is inviting residents to a groundbreaking ceremony Thursday.

FALMOUTH, MA – The town is inviting residents to a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Falmouth Senior Center at 780 Main St., between the police station and the Gus Canty Recreation Center. The ceremony will start at noon.
The project is the result of years of planning to create a design that meets the needs of the town's senior population. With the support of the Board of Selectmen, Finance Committee and the Council on Aging, Town Meeting approved $9.7 million in funding and residents subsequently approved a ballot measure authorizing a debt exemption for construction of the 17,000-square-foot center.
The center's mission is to advocate on behalf of residents over 60 by identifying and developing resources of assistance, provide information, referrals to other community agencies, outreach, health services, transportation, education and recreation programs and activities.
