Falmouth Brothers Ordered to Remain in Custody After Attempted Abduction

Two Falmouth brothers were ordered Wednesday to remain in custody on charges they tried to abduct a girl last month.

Bruce Bartlett (at left) and his brother, Dennis, allegedly tried to kidnap the 13-year-old girl on Wed., June 24, in the Menauhant section of East Falmouth after offering her candy. The girl escaped unharmed.

During a dangerousness hearing Wednesday, a judge ruled the brothers would pose a significant threat to the community if they were released on bail, according to the Associated Press. The brothers were ordered to remain in custody.

They were charged with attempted abduction, enticing a minor, and conspiracy.

Brice Bartlett is 60; his brother is 61.
