Falmouth Car Heist: 2 Arrested After Struggle, Police Say
Falmouth police said Amhad Faiky, 18, and Richard Gilbar, 50, stole a Jeep while struggling with the owner.

FALMOUTH, MA — A Falmouth teenager and a 50-year-old man were arrested Thursday morning after police said they stole a Jeep and assaulted the owner. Ahmad Faiky, 18, and Richard Gibar, 50, were charged with a host of crimes. The incident happened on Avalon Drive Thursday at about 3 a.m., police said.
"The 33-year owner attempted to stop the men and sustained a minor injury in the process," Falmouth police said in a statment. "The 2000 Jeep Cherokee was located on Shorewood Drive a short distance away from the victims’ home. A description of both male participants inside the Jeep were broadcast over the police radio. A Barnstable County Sheriff Canine Officer assisting with the search encountered two males in the area that fit the description and they were detained."
Faiky was charge with breaking and entering, larceny of a vehicle and assault with a vehicle. Gilbar was charged with breaking and entering and larceny of a vehicle.

Both have arrest histories; Faiky has been arrested at least three times this year on drug charges.
