Falmouth DPW Employee Dies In Work Truck Crash

FALMOUTH, MA — A Falmouth Department of Public Works employee has died after a single-vehicle accident on Wednesday afternoon.

On Thursday at 2:19 p.m., the Falmouth Police Department and Falmouth Fire Rescue Department were dispatched to the crash on Davisville Road, involving a Department of Public Works pick-up truck, officials said.

The driver was reportedly traveling north on Davisville Road when the truck was driven off the road and struck a tree. The male driver, who was the sole occupant, was transported to Falmouth Hospital with critical injuries where he died a short time later.

The crash is currently under investigation by the Falmouth Police Department Crash Reconstruction Team.

Davisville Road was closed for about an hour after the crash.
