Falmouth Driver Rescued From Embankment After Weekend Crash

A driver exited their car after it went partially over the side of an embankment, but needed help from fire officials to get out himself.

FALMOUTH, MA — A Falmouth driver found themselves in a precarious situation over the weekend when their vehicle went partially over an embankment.

Falmouth fire and ambulance officials responded to the area of Highland Circle in Hatchville around 5 a.m. on Saturday on a report of a car accident.

They arrived to find an SUV partially over an embankment in an unstable position, with the driver of the car roughly 30 additional feet down the embankment.

"Once the vehicle was secured to prevent it from sliding down the embankment any farther the driver was extricated from the wooded area nearby and transported to Falmouth Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries," officials said.

The car was towed from the scene and, now, police are investigating the cause of the crash, fire officials said.
