Falmouth Girls Lacrosse Falls to Sandwich

It was Falmouth 3, Sandwich 11 in girls lacrosse action.

The Sandwich girls lacrosse team looks to be on its way to the state tournament, from what we have seen so far. Sandwich treated the Falmouth Clippers to a clinic on how to play the game on Tuesday, overwhelming them 11-3 on Falmouth's home turf.

In the first half, the Clippers had a hard time getting past their half of the field.  Scoring a number of goals in a short time, Sandwich put Falmouth on the defensive.

After halftime, Falmouth started to make a comeback effort, with Greer Gilbert and Katie Burton scoring a few goals. Overall, however, Falmouth just couldn't keep up with Sandwich's crisp passing and play-making.

Despite that Falmouth worked hard to get the ball into the net, it just wasn't going to happen for them. Standout players Megan McCarthy, Lily Helfinch and Danielle Ouimet worked hard to keep the ball in play.
