FALMOUTH, MA — Falmouth High School Principal Mary Gans will resign, effective Jan. 3, 2022.
"I am certainly not immune to putting my own life under the microscope and examining what I want my path to be as I look ahead," Gans said in a statement sent out to the school community on Blackboard. "So it is with great emotion that, while I will always be an extremely proud Clipper, I have submitted my resignation as principal of Falmouth High School."

Duerr said she'll miss Gans and praised her for her leadership and quickly rising up the ranks in the school administration.
"Her knowledge of the Falmouth community and schools has been a great asset to me during my superintendency. I've been able to rely on Mary through thick and thin. Her incredible work ethic and leadership qualities have led Falmouth High School to gain the NEAS accreditation. She has inspired both students and staff during her tenure."
