Falmouth To Host Fall Textile Collection Event

FALMOUTH, MA — The Town of Falmouth is kicking off October with a one-day clothing and textile drive-up event.

The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 3 at 790 Main St., in the parking area in front of the Gus Canty Recreation Center and Falmouth Senior Center.

Residents are asked to place their donations in plastic, paper or fabric bags. Those looking to declutter and give their clothes a new home can donate a variety of items.

Accepted items include pants, shirts, socks, pajamas, dress shoes, winter boots and sneakers. Volunteers will also accept household linens, including sheets, towels, blankets, drapes and small throw rugs.

Accessories such as gloves, belts and scarves, as well as stuffed animals, will also be accepted.

Donations will also support the Falmouth High School soccer team, which will receive 6 cents per pound of donated material.
