Falmouth Man Sentenced to Prison for Police Chase, Robberies
Robert Madigan, 33, of Falmouth, and an accomplice robbed several homes then led police on a chase.

A Falmouth man was sentenced to 8 to 10 years in prison for robbing several homes and leading police on a doomed chase.
Robert Madigan, 33, pleaded guilty to a host of charges in Barnstable Superior Court last week. He was also sentenced to 10 years probation.
Prosecutors said Madigan and accomplice Ronald Renaud, 37, of East Falmouth, robbed a home on Shepard’s Place in Falmouth on Oct. 20, 2013. They stole jewelry and coins. Minutes later, police received a call that two suspicious men breaking into another home on Tarpon Road. Officers arrived and the pair fled in a vehicle, leading cruisers on a chase. Madigan then slammed on the brakes, ran to a nearby home, and asked the homeowners if he could call for a ride. The homeowners called police and Madigan was arrested. Renaud was arrested when he tried to open the car door but broke the handle, police said.

Police found the jewelry and coins inside the car. They also found a flashlight and latex glove.
Renaud has pleaded guilty and is awaiting sentencing.
