Falmouth Police Holding Holiday Drive-In To Benefit Local Kids

The drive is collecting gift cards instead of toys this year to lessen the risk of spreading the coronavirus from many people touching toys.

FALMOUTH, MA — It's never too early to think about helping those in need before the holidays, especially those in your own community. Falmouth police will get in the giving spirit starting in December with its annual "Fill a Cruiser" toy drive.

But because of the coronavirus pandemic, this year's drive is going to be a drive-in event, and the drive is collecting gift cards instead of toys to minimize the risk of spreading COVID-19 due to several people handling toys.

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 5, police will hold their drive outside Walmart at 137 Teaticket Highway. All donations will benefit the Falmouth Service Center to help local families during the holiday season.

Gift cards in $25 increments will be accepted from Olympia Sports, Target and TJ Maxx.

If you can't make the drive, don't worry you can still help Falmouth children in need. Falmouth police are accepting gift cards in the lobby until Dec. 6.
